Vermont Farm-fresh eggs come from happy pastured hens! Our laying hens follow our 100% grassfed Rotokawa Beef or our 100% grassfed lamb around the pasture during spring and summer. In the winter time they free range in our large hoophouse. We add pine shavings to the house and in the spring after the birds are out on pasture we pull the composted shavings and chicken manure to spread on our vegetable fields for great fertility! Its a wonderful system only found on a diversified farm.
Eggs from pastured hens are far superior to the caged hen eggs, or even the "cage-free" eggs you buy in the store. They are more nutritious, yolks are golden and rich in flavor. They are great cooked using any method and are excellent additions in your baking!
COST: $4.50 per dozen at our farmstand. $5.00 at the farmers markets.
